Note: BRCA1 or BRCA2 is a screening test for hereditary breast ovarian cancer syndrome (HBOC syndrome). It is used for screening in patient with family history of HBOC or multiple non-hereditary risk factors for breast cancer. First-tier test to assess risk for BRCA-related breast and/or ovarian cancer syndrome in Ashkenazi Jewish people with or without a family history of an ethnicity-associated mutation.
