• Active EBV infection in transplant patients and AIDS patients
• Infectious mononucleosis
• Lymphoproliferative disease
• Chronic fatigue syndrome
• Burkitt’s lymphomas
• Nasopharyngeal carcinoma

Negative in:

• Past EBV infection
• Uninfected individuals
